Being Thankful Goes Beyond the Dinner Table

I believe the true meaning of most of the holidays has vanished with commercializing everything. Instead of the true meaning of giving thanks, now people want to make sure they have time to watch the football games, and who has the biggest turkey, ya know?

I remember when I was younger, we traveled for miles to return home and give thanks for our family, the days past, and the days to come...I mean during the blessing of the food, we all had to say what we were thankful for that year, and believe me, by the time we were finished the food would almost be cold.

I say this because now-a-days, the youth are not motivated with the general values of life and having the gifts that come with living. I believe this is the one time that we show gratitude for having Life, and we should take that time to give thanks for the many blessings we have acquired.

This is an exceptional tribute to instill in our youth about being blessed and being grateful, all in one!!
