First off, just to give a swift blowover of my mentionables: I give a huge hug to Jennifer Hudson for being such a strong spirited person. She gave a beautiful performance and held herself really well...It would touch me terribly, and it did her as well, buit she held up splendidly! 'You go girl!'; I was exteremely proud of Stevie Wonder. He looks well to be such a veteran in the music/entertainment industry-such an inspiration...and he still got that spunk!
The music award recipients weren't the only reason to watch the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, I also enjoyed seeing some of my favorite television stars and screen actors/actresses. That's what I do enjoy most about the Grammys, you get a variety from some of your favorite forms of entertainment. Of course Jack Black's appearance anywhere is going to be a blast of fun. More appearances I enjoying witnessing were those of Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Sinise-I just love CSI, all of them; and it was great to see Nicole Kidman among the crowd. There were many that I enjoyed seeing enjoying the event, but of course this write would turn into a book, LOL.
But now, my review of the action! The main buzz around the 51st Annual Grammys was the absence of both nominees and performing acts, Chris Brown and Rihanna. Swarming around in the buzz of the absence of both entertainers was an alleged assualt having been taken place earlier on in that weekend of the Grammys. Reports have stated that Chris Brown turned himself in, and although Cihanna had 'visible signs' of injuries, she was "well". On the filpside of the situation, legendary Al Green filled the void with a performance with Justin Timberlake, Boyz II Men and Keith Urban.
In hip-hop land, Li'l Wayne left with a nice victorious smile on his face. And it wasn't from his performance with M.I.A., which also included performers Jay-Z, Kanye West and T.I.
Speaking on the performance by M.I.A. This was another most talked about topic about the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. M.I.A. is 9 months pregnant! And yes, she was on that stage performing like anyone else. Maybe not just like anyone else, but she was doing her thing for a person in her condition. I give her all props. The outfit was a little comical, but her performance was grand...and while we are on strange or comically different, I want to speak on Kanye West's new hairdo. All I can say is: WOW! It looks like his barber may have had a slip of the hand, crossed with a 'Mr. T' haircut. Very different, Kanye. Very different.
Well, those are the types of things a person should expect to see during an event like the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. People coming out with new ideas for fashion, exposing society to their taste and flair. Does that necessarily mean that society has to follow the trend?
Before I end this, I would like to say as a review of the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, the event was another sucessful and fun event, excluding a few situations. But the overall mission of acknowledging entertainers for their hardwork and deication to the industry was accomplished...and for that, as a viewer and supporter of the industry, I am grateful.
