"On That Phone!"

Lately, my friends, my mother and I have this sort of game we play while out riding; the object of the game is to determine whether or not a 'crazy' or 'senseless' driver was indeed "on that [cell]phone" or not. It's quite amusing at times, especially when you swear that the driver is on their cellphone, making horrible driving decisions, and it turns out not to be true. Boy, the stories I could share, but I'm short on time due to procrastinating my packing duties.
The point of this write is to say that 'Reality Bites' as we try to maintain our composure enough on these pot-hole filled streets, and then to have to deal with someone stalling at a red light, or the one I loathe the most-driving out of their lane(s). There are so many times when you are out in the streets,on the freeways, by-ways and interstates, plagued by nonsense driving. A driver is steadily coming over in your lane while you are moving over and over and over. Almost causing a serious accident, and if anyhting had happened, what would that driver think-that they were not in the wrong? Most of them do. And how does being distracted while on a cellphone and trying to manuever a moving vehicle justify ignorance? I may be going a bit off point by being opinionated, but this act just burns my collar! I say to any official: Hurry up and make that law, banning cellphone usage while driving in the Motor City!
And to my readers, how many instances have you witnessed, or heard about involving people making reckless decisions, driving and 'On That Phone!'?

Does texting count? Just Kidding! Great stuff here, Ronyae!Ken!!!I'm glad you are kidding, because texting is the worst! And, my cousin has a very bad habit of doing this while she drives, yells at the baby, and at other drivers who are yelling at her for driving like a blind person! HA!
Ronyae, it is a dangerous practice - talking, texting and driving. A neighbor ran into a parked car in downtown Houston while on the phone with her husband getting directions. Everyone was fine, but can you imagine how the husband felt when he heard that crash.Lorrie!OMG! I can imagine that entire scene! That's just horrible, but thatnk goodness no one was hurt badly.
Ronyae,I agree with you. It is frustrating and dangerous to see these people behind the wheel.NancyNancy,Thanks for reading and sharing a comment.
There is a spelling error in the following sentence: "Almost causing a serious accident, and if anyhting"Yoda say, "Hmmmm. Much anger in this one."LOL. I hear ya anonymous number 2. lolAnonymous,Thanks for the editing :)
hi ronyae, cell phones in cars are banned in new jersey.my partner actually was rear ended years ago, when they weren't banned, by a woman who wrote on the accident report that she was on her cell phone trying to reach her husband, and was paying attention. didn't help that my partner's car was totaled.i think that all the states will eventually ban cell phones-we are allowed earpieces instead.however, if one's spouse is yelling on the phone, i don't think it matters whether it's in an earpiece, or an actual phone, it would still be distracting.thanks for sharing,my best, sueSue,I agree in all aspects. And I believe all distractions are just that, no matter where they come from.
Ronyae,I agree with you too. There is a law but seldom people obey. Thanks for writing a wonderful article.SwapnaSwapna,Good to see you on here. Thanks for reading and sharing a comment.
I use bluetooth when I drive.I'm in Ca, so I need a hand-less device. I recommend blue-tooth.Gregory,Thanks for that comment. I see more and more people using bluetooth; I hope that it will help some
It drives me nuts !!!! Ronyae, I see this all the time here in Arizona. California made it a law, that you must wear a bluetooth when you drive, and you must be hands free. But I think that is nuts in itself, as it still takes away from your concentration. I think cell phone should be banned in cars period. I the old days, if we needed to call somebody when we were on the road, we would stop at a "Phone booth" and put a dime in it, and make our call....then get back on the road...and be on our way safely...I totally agree with your article....Well done, and well said....your fan, and friend in pen, Gary.Gary,It's a pleasure to have friends like you; friends who remember the good 'ole safe days and ways of living. Thanks!
Very well written good article and format.Steven,Thanks for stopping by, reading, and sharing a comment.
