I've he
ard many say, "Life is what you make it." As my last installment of "W.U.D.", I submit this question:

"What is the purpose of life?"

When I take the aforementioned statement into consideration, it makes me question if there is a need for a purpose. But, sometimes certain interactions I experience, points to it being something more to life than everyday living. Take for instance, people who are educated in certain fields and trades. Is the purpose of their lives to help the sick? Is that even a possibility for 'the purpose of life'? I've always been curious about this subject, personally. Now, I would like to know what others feel about it. Can you shed a little light on the subject? Thank you for all your support with my column. The upcoming year will provide us with even more great submissions. I look forward to discussions with all of you, and Happy Holidays!

Ronyae, this may not apply to all of us but my brother use to have a plaque on his wall that read "WE are born not to ourselves but to help others." I don't know if this wording came from the bible or not but don't you think it makes a great deal of sense? It does give us a purpose in life.

Ronyae: There is a book, an old book, entitled "The Meta Human" by Paul Solomon that I own and refer to often. I believe we are all born with a purpose in life; whether one lives out that purpose is another matter. Stay true to yourself and you will find the truth; your guiding light will shine the way for you. Merry Christmas, Janet Van Rensburg

One of my favorite references is Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. I believe our purpose here on earth is to serve God. For me it is in serving Him that I get to serve people.
