American Made, Not Sold

I'm all for equal opportunity. But, I feel a bit aggrevated when I want to support American made products, and the person behind the counter can barely speak English.
As my uncle and I travelled through five states, I noticed every gas station we stopped at was operated by a foreigner. Notice: when I say foreigner, I mean "not born in America". If two people from Pakistan arrive in the U.S., and 18 years later have a child, in my opinion their child is American, where they are not. Call me a racist if you wish, but its my opinion.
But, this is not the point of this submission. As I sit on the dock of Writer's Block Bay, I question the reason behind some businesses - and maybe certain types of businesses are not operated by average Americans; americans who are required to pay taxes. Does this say something about American business owners, business people? What halts an average American from owning/operating a business ... in America?

We've been in business for ourselves and it was rugged. I hear what you are saying though.
Part of the great attraction of America for those from other countries is to come over here and start a business. We are, after all, the land of opportunity, right? I understand where you're coming from, though.
I try to buy American made whenever I can, even if it means a higher price. We as national consumers have to make the choice too, because ultimately our "vote" determines the kind of industry we receive, and where it comes from.
Thanks everyone for your input!
