Home Remedy for Oily Skin

Being from the south, I tend to use home remedies for almost every ailment I know of. But the one that I use the most would be the cure of oily skin. Although I don't know of a patented, for-certain remedy or a cure, I must share a certain way to control oily skin: Vinegar! Yes, vinegar.

I have more than one contributing factor to my oily skin: I am very hairy and being of black descent. With these attributes, I tend to accumalate dirt, oil and moisture in my pores; with oil being the most accumalative.

What I do is everyday, and twice a day, using a different facecloth each time, I wash my face with warm, diluted vinegar. I wet the cloth with hot water and pour a cap-full of vinegar and wash my face as usual.
Now, I will tell you this, that vinegar is very strong and acidic.  So, when you apply the warm vinegar cloth to your face, it will definitely tingle your skin.  It may even have a slight sting feeling on your face and the skin on your neck area.  Keep in mind of this when using this method.  Be sure not to get too close to your eyes with the cloth.  Because if the vinegar will sting your face, you can be sure that it will sting your eyes, or something even worse.  You may want to be careful around your nose as well.  But if you have skin like me, you'll need to wash your nose with the warm, vinegar cloth as well.  Just be careful not to inhale...at least, not deeply. (smile)
I cannot guarantee results in an instant, but if you practice the process on a daily basis, I'm sure it will bring results. I'm no expert, but I do know many things by experience. Try it and see!

Hello Sandi,

Sorry for the tardiness on responding to your comment. From my personal experience, it does not dry out the skin. I have no answer for long term use affects. Thanks for reading and sharing a comment, Sandi and I hope it works for you.
